Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born on November 18th, 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as Her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was a natural at athletics before she realized her ability to sprint when she was a student at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks, after the first time she tried out. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation by signing a contract as a professional athlete with the sports organization Adidas after which she enrolled in the University of Southern California where she studied elementary school. Felix's debut Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics, in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by the 200m race in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest World Champion in the 200m in the Helsinki World Championships. She retained her title in 2007 by over her former Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She often finished in the top three of all events.
